Where is the heater hose inlet on the 352 block?

I have a 48 Custom 8 and just recently bought a 1956 Studebaker Golden Hawk with the Packard 352. The car came from Puerto Rico and since they don't need heat there, they disconnected the heat system. I see a capped hose fitting on the back of the water pump casing. I assume this is the heater return line. Where is the inlet fitting in the block? The back of the block is real hard to see, but even with a flashlight I don't see anything. Also, the Golden Hawk uses what they call a climatizer which essentially is a heater core that sits under the passenger seat. Any ideas on how this is piped? The climatizer is still there.

Which car were you asking about? On the 48 it's on the cylinder head, about 2/3 of the way towards the rear. It could be a valve, a slightly angled pipe nipple that someone closed off, of just a plug into a threaded hole in the head. On the V8, assuming it was done as Packard did it in their chassis, it's on the rear of the passenger side cylinder head. It's a small steel plate bolted to the cylinder head opening, same size and location as the ones at the front for the water pump manifold and at the rear on the driver side for the temperature sensor.

on v/8 cars, the other heater fitting would be on the rear of the passenger side head. look at where the water pump manifold bolts to the head on the front of the engine. in that exact same spot on the back of the engine is where the heater fitting will screw in.there should be a bracket back there to hold the cross shaft for the tranny throttle valve rod if your car is an ultramatic car. the temp sender for the guage is is the same spot on the driver side.
