Hello everyone,

I recently found this old chrome hood ornament, which I believe might be from a Packard (possibly late 1940s to early 1950s).
It’s shaped like a bird (swan or cormorant) with a broken base. I don’t have any background information on it.

Here are some photos (attached).
Could anyone tell me:
1. The exact model and year this ornament belongs to,
2. What its approximate value might be (as-is and restored),
3. And if it would be worth repairing before selling?

The figure seems to be cast metal (probably Zamak or pot metal) with chrome plating.
Any insight from collectors or restorers would be much appreciated!

According to Google Image search this is from a 1933 Cadillac. This thread on AACA appears to show it unbroken doppelganger, right down to the background.

Looks like a Cadillac « heron. ». More of Harley Earl’s copying of Hispano Suiza.

Not Packard and probably not worth repairing if the purpose is to sell for profit. It would cost far more to fix it than you could ever sell it for!
