Hello,

Citizens Motorcar Company, America's Packard Museum in Dayton, OH, would like to announce that we are going to start a sympathetic restoration on the 1955 Bill Allison Torsion Bar Suspension test vehicle. The car was donated to the museum several years ago by Bill's family, though due to it being a Detroit car nothing could be done with it without substantial work so it remained in storage. Now time to solicit some donations and get car on display. I had it dropped off last week and we have in the first storage bay in the basement and have begun to collect parts. What is great is that I have a fair amount of documentation from day 1 of this car and also the private papers of Bill Allison (the designer of the torsion bar suspension). P.S. have any of you seen pictures of car before when new - hint = originally it was painted ( ED ) and has a trim code ( 62 ) - all powder blue lower with darker blue top (now improperly has blue lower accent so as to deal w/Detroit rust and blue around windows).

Basically, it does not have what it should below the door level. You are not looking at the rocker (it steps back in almost 1 inch below bottoms of doors). Help, Help, and need more Help here.

JMM,

Not sure if you are aware, but you can post multiple pictures to a single post if you wish. Just select the first picture, then hit Upload. Then select the next picture, and hit upload..... rinse and repeat. Once you have all the pictures that you want attached. Then click submit and all the pictures will go with it.

Thanks Kevin, bigger is better though in this case. This car needs the attention and a ton of help - if it were not the car referenced in "hint" (and I am awaiting someone to fill in the details before I let the cat out of the bag sort to speak) and also being the torsion bar test vehicle and bill Allison's it would have been scrapped years ago.

The extra holes around the front headlight rims help keep the brakes cool - just joking

That is fabulous that the car still survives, and it is surely worth a quality restoration. Allison was truly an unappreciated genius.
