Look around for solid core plug wires--not the resistor type. Somehow 6v cars just don't seem to like them at all. Especially the 53-54 which already have a resistor in the rotor.

On my car I am using Packard 440 wire which I am assuming is non-resistor wire?

Packard 440 is solid wire. I use that also as the resistor on my 56 is in the rotor. I purchase extra Delco D-403? rotors when I have the chance if they are less than $5.00.
