Battery Tray "J" Bolts

Does anyone have a picture of the bolts that secure the battery retainer to to the tray (aka "J" bolt). Mine were missing as was the retained when I got the car. I found a retainer, but need to know the size (length) and style of of the retainer bolts. Hopefully I can find a set that will work.

Thanks,

Kev, can you tell from the lower sides of your battery box if yours truly used "J" bolts, or were they more likely straight rods, threaded at the top of course, but with a flattened section at the bottom and a small "lip" facing upwards that engaged a slot (not a round hole) in the battery box? I know a picture would be a lot better than my trying to describe it. I do have one or two of the latter and could send you pictures, easy enough to make them with some round rod, die, torch and hammer for a little forming, and some filing. Easier of course if you can find them NOS.

I'll try to post a picture of the OEM ones I have, though I'm not sure they're correct for 1954.

Will have for you tomorrow if you still need it.

Also, a while back someone was asking about paint color on oil filler tube, decal location on oil filter bucket and tubing color, and (I think it was you)correct routing of the ground cable. Could you please move to the correct threads?

Note that on the filler tube there appears to be black factory paint at top of tube. Two tone paint job?

Here is the photograph. Do you need more points of view or is this enough?

Kev,

Here is the battery retainer. This is a reproduction that I bought from one of the PI Chapters.

I found a set of 8" long J-Bolts at the local O'Reilys for $3.50. They work without any modification and will do until I can located an original set to replace them with. First I need to get a correct size battery for the tray. My "shop" battery is much smaller. Also for future reference, a battery with side terminal and top terminals wont work as the retainer edge will contact the side terminals.
