Hey BigKev

Bad news. Got into the trunk of the 55 Clipper and found only one tail light and it had a big hole in the bottom of it. Those lenses are a bit tough to come by and the re-pops I hear are to expensive to consider.

Oh well...no problem. The problem is that over 50 years, the ones that are actually on cars are brittle, crazed and broken.

The repros cost about $150 each. The plastic in the new ones is vastly superior and more durable then what they used in the 50's. The problem is that they look so good, that you really need to buy two of them so they match on the car. So $300 is not currently in the budget for taillight lenses, when the Clipper needs other things first to get her running. Right now I have one lense that is complete, but very crazed. The other does not have as much crazing, but has a silver dollar sized hole in it. So in the short term once the car gets drving again, I guess a little red tape will have to do.
