I have enjoyed reading about the history of Packard as described above.

This got me to thinking and I got to looking around the engine compartment of my '55 Clipper. In there I saw that the previous owner had installed a set of "Packard 440" spark plug wires. The name "Packard" on these wire sets has often confused people not familiar with the history of the Packard Motor Car Co. Packard wires on a Packard, not what it seems.

GM-Delco-Delphi also imprinted the wires with a version of the "Packard Script", adding still more confusion. I recently purchased a Packard Cable battery cable wall display. The seller had advertised it on eBay in the Packard parts section, but was going to withdraw it since it had nothing to do with Packard. He said I could have it at my bid amount, if I still wanted it. I did.
