Can't find a flex rubber fuel pump IN line for my 53 packard. Napa has a hard line , but it will have to be bent and the ends will have to be used with 2 other fittings. Anyone else had this problem.

Your topic is on the flex line but you state that NAPA has a hard line which would be metal. Using a metal line to replace a flexible rubber line is extremely dangerous. The movement of the motor will fatigue and crack the metal causing a fire-hazard fuel leak.

The car is 55+ years old and many parts are no longer available at regular auto parts stores. For things like pistons, king pins, and yes, even fuel hoses, you must source them at flea markets or specialty Packard suppliers.

By the way, a post like this for a specific year car should be in the year range forum for best results. BigKev has set up a great website.

Reproduction fuel pump inlet (flex) hoses compatible with today's gasoline have been a long-standing project of Niagara Packards, a region of PAC. Depending on year and model there are several different ones available at $20 plus $3 postage.

Owen gives good advice. Although the provider to Niagara Packards screwed up and had the wrong fitting where the flex line connects to the steel line, they corrected it and sent me a new flex line. Only took a couple of weeks.
