Kindly request a recommendation for the best website source to find the ownership history of my 1954 Clipper Super.
Thanks again!

I see no one has responded to your request and probably for the same reason I did not. Most state DOTs don't keep old info and some state laws prohibit publishing it for any except legal reasons. Sorry I can't help. I got lucky on my Pat because I found an old title and when contacted the lady was very nice returning my call and best of luck, the Studebaker museum had the build sheet. Can't ask for much more than that.

I see you are from the Dallas area. You can go to the regional service center at:

1925 E Beltline Rd
Suite 100
Carrollton, TX

They can do a history search on your car if it was registered in Texas. It is an easy process, and they do it while you wait. It costs 5 or 6 dollars. You have to have the old license plate number or the VIN number. Oh, and the car has to have been registered in Texas. I think you have to be there in person.

I just did one on my car, a 1953 Packard Clipper. The old plate was from 1996. They went back to 1989 when it came from NJ.

Also check with the two national Packard Clubs as their roster keepers may have information on that car if one of the previous owners was ever a member.

Thanks again Cheester and BigKev. I will follow up with the clubs since the car has only been registered in TX for 5 months and previously came from Virgina.
