I'll stop at AZO and look at them again to double check. They were packaged in a box. I studied the nomeclature on the box and the front of the beam as much as i could seee. I saw NOTHING printed on the beam nor the box that indicated any reference to Halogen. Part no. begins with "H" yes. The rectangular beams have "HALOGEN" cast into the glass lens. I did not see that on the 7" round. I'll look at them again.

Edit. I just googled the Sylvania H6024 and yes there is a lot of hits that reference it as Halogen. Strikes me as odd that there is nothing on the box or beam that indicated halogen.

In the NAPA line of 7" sealed beams, the "H" prefix denotes halogen, w/o the "H" it's tungsten.

Thank You all, for the info. Will purchase Napa Halogen bulbs for our 1940 Packard today.
Only question what is the correct # for the taillight bulbs?
Will make driving much safer in the California central valley fog this time of year. I know, we try to avoid but were caught unexpectly last winter driving home in the early evening.
thanks
John

Easiest way to get the halogen bulbs, other than headlights, is to call Eric at Bill Hirsch. He has most if not all and knows the bulb number interchanges.
