I mocked up the '53 tail fins yesterday, and loved them. So, today I made the holes and bolted them on. This car is really comin' along, it is going to be one great looking car!

Very nice. Makes me want to put bottle openers on my Bathtub.

The patina on your car is amazing. You should clear coat it and drive it that way for a while.

Thanks packardtaximan! I had been looking for those fins for a while. My brother found them buried under the back seat of a '53 at the salvage yard. I am so glad he found them, those things usually get picked right away. My '52 should be on the road soon! I really hope I can take it to my old shop at school before it lets out at the end of this month.

Thank you too joeyearl!

Yeah, I am going to keep this patina for a good while. I love the way it looks, it is one of a kind. I'm thinkin' of using a matte clear to protect it.

Putting those bottle openers on your "Bathtub", would that be a first? I think you should go for it, might look pretty cool!

Those look great! Would love to find some to my car. Got bottle openers already waiting to be installed.

I think I would get kicked out of the forum if I put them on my '48!

A while back, I saw a '62 Chevy Wagon with this patina- paint worn through to primer, bare metal, bondo, etc, and a nice high gloss urethane clear coat on top. It was polished to a show quality shine. Excellent!

I've been working on other cars lately. Need a break from the Packard. Got a care package of new metal coming soon though so when that arrives, I'll be back at it.
