On the installation of the wiper motor there are two outlets that come out of the bottom of the balancing valve. One is marked to go to the "manifold" the other to "vacuum pump". Is that vacuum pump line going to a separate vacuum pump or is it going to the vacuum reservoir? Any information to where that feed needs to go is greatly appreciated!

The one to manifold goes to the fitting originating at base of carb. Usually that steel tube is attached to head and intake manifold area ending near valve. If you have a stock 55-6 engine without a PI or other modified oil pump, there is a vacuum pump attached to the bottom of oil pump. That vacuum source is on passenger side about midway on the block just above the oil pan. A 1/4 in steel line with check valve which goes toward rear of engine and bends up toward balance valve also ending near it. If you have the PI pump, that tube is either no longer there or not active and you need to block off that port on the valve.

EDIT: If you still have the original setup, you might take this opportunity to find and clean that check valve -- or at least keep it in mind if the engine suddenly begins emitting blue smoke. A stuck open check valve allows oil to be pulled thru the balance valve into the intake manifold.
