1946-47 Limo Footrest

All,
Just recently acquired a 3' carpeted footrest for my 1946 limo. It came with the long brackets that hold the carpeted wooden footrest that rests on the floor but I don't have the part that bolts to the floor on each side. If anyone has a pair I would like to purchase however I think I could make myself if someone could take a close up of the part.
Thanks to all..
Rich Young

Is that the '46 that was for sale some time ago near Jacksonville?

I'll try and post up a picture in the next couple of days if someone else doesn't beat me to it.

Thanks all. Everyone has always been so helpful on this site.

Yes, Don,
it was. I've owned for probably 4-5 years now. If you recall it was used to grind valves; they used it as a work truck. oh yeah... it didn't have a rear seat either.

Six years ago I had reached a deal to buy the car for $8000.

I had forwarded the funds and transfer documents to a local bank that was handling the transactions for me. The sellers were at the bank, the transporter was on its way, they had me on the speakerphone, and the seller's elderly mother who had to sign the deed wanted to know some personal information about me. When I refused to answer her question, she said well then I won't sell to you. And, that was the end of the '46 Custom Super Clipper missing a rear seat for me.

I feel reconnected now.

Good luck with your restoration!

Rich, I have a 48 limo parts car with the foot rest. A friend who owns a 46 limo is coming to visit today and I will have him check to see if the footrest is the same. If they are the same and you are still interested I am asking $30 for the pair (shipping included). Thanks. Packardtaximan

Rich, I bought some '47 limo parts from the following ebay seller who was parting one out. He may still have the rear seat.

Don,
I had worked closely with the owner for probably a year before she agreed to sell to me. My wife and I became friends with the family.

I actually did buy the rear seat from RPM Motor sports - They have a 47 limo parts car - also boughtthe windshield wiper linkage arms from under the dash. Small World!

Hope it's one in the same floor brace. Sold!
If I have to "create" parts I will but If I make them they always look like a part that someone made(imagine that).

I had been searching Ebay for the footrest forever. RPM didn't have - I asked about just as soon as I saw the photo RPM posted.

If you want larger high resolution pictures, drop me a personal email at aarmit1@yahoo.com and I'll email the larger files to you. Or, if you need different angles, I'll see what I can do. I wish I could have gotten under the carpet where the footrest base is actually mounted to the floor for you to see, but hopefully, this is what you are looking for.

And after taking these pictures, I feel it's time for me to spend a little time with some polishing compound and a cloth.
