I came across this today: Esval Models. About 1/2 way down their home page they have some interesting models.

I haven't seen too many pre-war models, and of course the '41 caught my eye.

I bought one of each, both in black. However, I can't figure out how/why they chose to build a model of a car that probably has very little interest to most people, including Packard lovers. I just can't believe they will be able to sell many. It's an extremely high-quality model... I'm glad they did it.

I bought mine at AutoZone in Birmingham, Michigan (now called Pasteiner's, I think). Around $80. They're available on eBay for $95 plus shipping.

Same as West, I came across them via Ebay. I haven't taken the plunge yet, but after reading West' comments on the quality I probably pick one up.

I have to echo West' comments on production sustainability. Glad they are making it, but I can't see it lasting too long.

Nice looking models. I recently bought a model of the 1954 Packard Henney station wagon by Brooklin. It is 1/43rd scale, nicely done, but not inexpensive. I got it from O'Neil (4 Rushtons Yard, Market Street, Ashby de-la Zouch, Leicestershire LE65 1AL, England). It arrived at my door within a week of ordering.

I'm not a professional die cast model reviewer, but the quality of these 1941-42 Packards is on a par with the 1941 formal sedan I bought several years ago for $300.

The Rextoys 1940 Super Eight sedan that I have doesn't even compare. It's not bad, though, for around $30.
