The upholstery shop is almost complete with the front seat work. However, photos from the photo archive show an ashtray on the center of the back of the front seat. My car didn't have one there when I bought it. Does anyone know if the 200 Deluxe had an ashtray there, or was this only for the 300 and 400 model? The bracket for it is on the seat.

It would have been included if the purchaser ordered Group GE package. See the 1951 RPO Codes, which are available on this site. No doubt someone will provide the link for you, but the list is cut and pasted below.

I don't know for sure how close the appointments matched between 51 and 52 although I've been under the belief features were virtually identical. In 52 fact book, ashtray was standard on the deluxe but not the lighter. Not sure how full the lineup was when they were introduced in 51 so maybe still a work in progress as far as amenities when yours was built. The build sheets O_D posted would seem to indicate it would be there.

The 1951 fact book shows the same features for the 200 Deluxe as for 1952.
The Group GE items for the 200 are shown as No instead of Extra.

Thanks guys! The car doesn't have the lap robe or coat hooks so I'm assuming that the ash tray didn't show up either. Course I'll still be looking for all three of those items for later additions.
