Nathaniel T. Dawes on American Pickers!

FYI, all...caught part of an episode of American Pickers last night.

Mike & Frank stopped at his place and bought a few things, including a Packard hood ornament.

There was also a nice shot of his '55 Caribbean. Is it the first production Caribbean? They kept talking about him owning the first serial number of SOME Packard...

He also has a '37, didn't catch which one.

And his book was mentioned, of course.

Thanks. I've seen Nat Dawes' 55 Caribbean a couple to times, most recently at the PAC National at Gettysburg but in a mental lapse I failed to get the thief-proof and vehicle numbers. The earliest surviving 55 Caribbean listed in Mike Grimes' rather extensive database is #1006. I really should call Nat and get the numbers. His 37? is a curious car, somewhat cobbled together with a bunch of mismatching parts but still interesting. His book is still a great source of info on the Packard company post-war, the data in the appendeces is particularly useful. And if you've not met Nat, you're in for a treat!

Did the Caribbean have the longhorns on it? The car has a Packard dealer tag from El Paso.

Interesting - I'm going to go down to my library and reread his book. I didn't remember any longhorns in it....
