Dave,

- Open the thread you want to copy the link of
- Left lick your cursor in the web address, eg: http.//packardino.....etc
- That will highlight the Web address
- Right click your cursor while holding it over the highlighted address and select "Copy" and Right click to copy it
- In the thread you wish to include the web adddress in then left click where you wish to insert it and right click on "Paste"
- VOILA! Link inserted.

Probably somewhat long-winded and maybe terminology is not 100% correct but I hope you can follow it.

But what is it, this Russian kg/cm? and how to explain to Mal who perhaps asked for psi = pounds per square inch, while I prefer to measure it as at?=atmosphere. And I am distantly aware of the possibility that perhaps Owen is waiting at the next corner to welcome me with "call them what you will according to the customs of your area; where and when I grew up, we always called it pish-posh and all what you need to measure it is an attentive view and a bit of spit..." .........

Gerd,

I grew up at a time when tyre pressures were measured in psi here and that's the one I still use even though Oz converted to Metrics over 30 years ago.
So your 2.5 & 3.5 convert to 35 & 50 psi approximately. to your handy plug in table!
The era of "attentive view and a bit of spit..." I did use at one stage in my boyhood for inflation of bicycle tyres too.
From the close up pic's of the wheels and tyres it's obvious to see the heavy duty componentry used.

Gerd,

Again the depth of your research is remarkable. This is compounded by the difficulties, not to mention time and effort you've spent, in the task of translation. And, your doorway to Yaroslavl is another insight into the "Cultural Revolution" to borrow a phrase.

Gerd,

No bull!

An awful lot of avoirdupois there. It goes without saying the suspension is beefed up considerably but what about the tyres? What brand/type/rating did they use to support the extremely large load?

And an question, What is the sports car next to the Limo? Allard?

Begs the question, how much did the car now weigh "all up"?

Morgan,

I note in the ad for your Pat it said "The load leveling suspension is not working. I believe this is due to the paint applied during the restoration, but cannot be sure without access to a lift and someone more knowledgeable of the system than I." As others said earlier in the piece, there are a number of people here who will be able to help with advice, and Hank's Project Blog will give you a working guide as well.

My next question is, are the springs supposed to have this "bend" in it this much?? It makes me ask because the suspension has sit unloaded for God knows how long, and it seems like it's possible to over time to cause a "bend" in the spring. Any ideas?

Eric,

The front springs in my '41 Coupe were shot when I got it. Pic below is of one of them, but both had spacers in them to give them back a bit of travel. And when the springs came out they were straight, no bend or kink. Therefore I suggest that new, or at least good 2nd hand springs, be used. Or have some wound up to your spec's, as you'd want to drop the front end in the Speedster a bit I'd imagine.
