FYI on duane G post:
I called rebuilders specialty yesterday . they were very helpful. sounds like they do a great job and reasonable turnaround. I think they will be a good source. I will let you know.

any advice please on vacuum advance for my 1952 (2501) 200 deluxe.....
I know I need a new v. advance. Do I buy a new part? I am afraid of NOS and if I purchase a new part any recommendations from whom? Or do I have my part rebuilt....? Is that done and by whom? thanks. My v. advance does not hold any vacuum at all. it very well could be the original. I am just starting to research this issue. I looked for a cross reference #. I have a delco remy system #1110825. thanks

hello,
I am happy I opened this thread. I am trying to catch up on my Packard projects. so I have been very busy. This thread reminds me about making a donation$; which I do periodically . I have not done so for a while. I was just thinking yesterday that I must send $ when I complete some of these projects. This is a good opportunity to do so. You all have a great summer and enjoy your rides. tim

some more great advice.
for the door window glass a local shop said he could do it for about $100.00. I am sure I can do the job myself. The price quoted me is high compared to montana. oh well. when I get down to it i'll make more calls.

thanks to all of you for responding to my question.
It sounds incredible and I hope to experience T-L someday. Maybe when I visit the mainland someday.......LOL I always like to hear first hand experience from other people. I have a lot to learn about this subject and thanks to your posts I have a list of sources to check out. Why wasn't this technology used by other auto makers after the end of Packard.......?
