Not sure what u are trying to accomplish. Do u only want to lower the rear of the car or lower the entire car from front to rear keeping the car level????

I agree, they are in a class by themselves. Have you had occasion to read the extreme precautions they took when shipping them by rail? They were treated nearly as nicely as the Mona Lisa when it's shipped.

'56 V8 production vs serial #s

Are there records extant which can correlate serial numbers versus actual production dates? viz, say a 5672 1479, where or how might one verify the actual build date for that car knowing the serial number but not having an actual build sheet, which I understand, was usually placed above the glove box, (just as with many 50s Mopars.) ?

Thanks for the pictures. Maybe they are for heating your lunch, or drying your gloves? Kind of like bumper guards are to hold the dog leash?

IMO the Continental Mk II was in a class by itself, not even the slightly later Cadillac Eldorado Brougham was equivalent. The Mark was essentially a hand built car on a quality level with Rolls Royce, and probably the better car. The Carib, though great, was a horse of a different color altogether. No comparison.

When I was in Idaho in 2007, visited a previous owner of the '41 Coupe I had bought. Took a pic of one of his Packards which was so equipped.

I'm thinking of loosening the U bolts and fabricating longer ones and just inserting 2" blocks that have a circular groove to conform to the axle tube.... Any objections besides the usual...Why?
