Compressor, Condenser and Cole Hersee switches ordered.

Once I get in the big parts, I will figure out some of the other stuff like evaporator thermostat, safety switch, lines/hoses, wiring, mounting brackets, etc. Also I appears to me that the Novi unit already has a dryer on it, so I maybe able to reuse that one.

Thank you to everyone that has helped and contributed to this project!

I would not use the drier as is. Too much chance of contamination. With the new compressor that would void any warranty. Driers are cheap so would suggest either replace or if there is something unique in the line configuration, send that one off to be rebuilt and new desiccant and filter element put in. Particularly important depending on which refrigerant you plan to use since some of the older material is not compatible with R134.

Since the history of the evaporator is unknown, it wouldn't be a bad idea to get a flush kit and flush that out before putting it back in service.

Are you going with modern O ring connections on the new hoses and components with flare connections or adapters at the evaporator or keeping the flare type connections thruout.

Good advice on the dryer. Probably just replace the one back at the evaporator unit with a modern one in it's place.

I haven't got that far on figuring out the line and hose stuff just yet. Just trying to accumulate all the main parts first. But I would imagine modern o-ring style would probably be best.

Anyone have a picture of the 1956 underhood A/C warning decal that was used? Just curious what it looks like and where it was applied.

Kevin - Just thinking that the AC control panel that fits above the steering column and below the instrument cluster as pictured on the '53 looks pretty cool (pardon the pun). Very Packard. Granted it is unusual, but this panel would really keep it Packardized like you said you wanted to do. It would make it something special. You may want to rethink using one - just saying ...

Mr. BIgkev - I will happily supply one of the underhood freon warning decals for the project. They were reproduced a while back and I have one in my archives.
I am so impressed with the effort you, and all of the Packardinfo community, are making on this project. Hope to see you again in Salado !
