No, plated acorn-style cylinder head nuts were not standard equipment on that vehicle.

Pretty car, very attractive engine compartment. Just a few observations if you're interested.

-I believe the steering column should be painted, not plated.
-Bijur jar cover should be painted black.
-Oil filler cap should be nickel, not chrome, ditto oil filter lines and all bright plated underhood trim.
-Spark plug terminals should be eyelets and thumbscrews.
-Inner tube valve stems should be metal with nickel covers.
-Fuel pump castings should be painted black.
-Decal on the L-6 filter is normally seen on the upper half. There is often a 2nd decal to record the mileage at installation.

Best get some oil in that Bijur before you begin putting miles on the car.

The 1934 water jacket plates are one year only due to the location of the oil cooler. And yes, repros are available should you need one, though mine is original, was removed and inspected a few years ago, and shows no signs of problems. Like so much, depends on what kind of care your car got in its prior life.

Dave, I find your plated grille shell with the painted louvers to be most attractive. Plated shell with plated louvers, in my opinion is just too bright. So, either way painted shell with plated louvers, or plated shell with painted louvers. Both are most attractive. I think headlight pods need to be like their grille shell. Just my two cents. Thanks. Thanks JW, I appreciate your comment and value your opinions. And I agree, a little too much shiney frontal bling in the Super Eight.

Dave,
Was the 34 voltage regulator a three brush cutout or a two brush regulator?
Thanks,
Richard

Your nomenclature is a little confusing, there are no brushes in the generator control or regulator. The generator itself is a 3rd brush type. If yours has a red label that was a running change with higher output due to the quickly rising popularity of radio equipment, but still a 3rd brush unit.

And to your earlier question, yes the correct water jacket plate with the 1934-specific oil cooler mounting fixture is available. When I get back to my computer tomorrow I'll try to remember to send you the info.
