Leonard Williams Packard Map Book |
This map book was produced for Leonard Williams & Co Ltd, the London Packard Distributor. It was given to customers when a Packard was purchased. This is a map of England that is broken down into 12 double-sided cards. The idea was to pull out the card you were traveling through and that was stuck back in the leather holder so it showed through the window in the back. This kept the map from getting wrinkled or spoiled and was easier to deal with than a large folded map. It is circa 1933-1940, based on the address of the map maker. One card is missing from the set, meaning two map sections are missing. The last page in the PDF copy shows the cards assembled as one large map. These map sections were not all cut from the same physical map, so there is some misalignment on the compiled map. Special thanks to Kevan and Tracey Dudson, whose father Kerry started the collection they manage, for donating the map book to the website for everyone to enjoy. Their family collection is in Carterton, New Zealand. Leonard Williams Packard Map Book It is recommended that you Right Click on the link(s) above and do a "Save Target As".
