Speedometer Removal on 7th Series

Howdy,
I need to remove the speedometer from my 726 Packard so I can send it off for repair. Does anybody have "Been There, Done That" experience with speedometer removal from one of these beasts? Just taking a quick look it appears as though I may need to pull the whole cluster from the back of the dash. Thanks in advance,

All of the advice above is true. Remember that the 733 is good for 50ish mph tops, and the engine has babbitt bearings. You will need to be, or to employ a master craftsman to rebuild that engine if/when the time comes.
The 37 cruises faster, brakes better and has longer range also, any competent mechanic should be able to rebuild/work on the engine. If you want it to drive buy the 37. If you are willing to brave the aforementioned high cost/lack of parts in order to drive that majestic 733, go for it. Scott

I love my 13" Mac notebook, it just flat out runs. The only down side is that I had to buy two to keep the peace at the homestead. I have a ruggedized Windows laptop that I am required to use at work. I really miss the ability to scroll with two fingers on the work machine. I'll never buy another IBM.

Bob,
I was going to ask you about the air chamber. Moisture isn't much of a problem in San Diego, it's stays dry. My car does get dusty, but then I get to commune with it while dusting. My garage is detached and not heated or air conditioned. I can see where they would be popular in damp climates. Anybody else have experience with these? Scott

16'6" from front bumper to the back of the trunk which overhangs the rear bumper by a foot. 15'6" bumper to bumper. I ran a tape measure under my car and eyeballed it so measurements are plus or minus an inch.
