ha ha ha ha ha h a! Try this one for a license plate: U812.
Sporaticaly over 16 years, i worked on Tennessee vehicle registration system for the state. They were constantly updaying the file with new words not allowed for personalized plates. They spent alot of time and research doing it. The "U812" was one that i never told them about. As far as i know no one has ever tried that one as of 6 years ago.

Yeah, notice is says "splash proof" distributor on the tag.
And there are some old line MoPar fanatics that have tried real hard to bury that problem as an "urban legend".

Can't speak to South Africa, but can tell you in central Calif with 100+ degrees common, the difference between a light and dark minivan is significant. Never measured it & you're right, they are both hot. Can speak from experience though not to leave cans of aerosol unprotected in the dark one but at least there was no damage in that learning experience. Would imagine it gets rather warm in your location also.

Much of that road is still unpaved, at least from the quarry on. It's a slow drive unless you want some new paint chips!

As O_D says it's almost impossible to do any matching based on photos/chips/computer monitors but I'd guess that color is closest to 22nd series Packard Ivory although it could possibly be Arizona Beige.
Looking at the 'correct' chips for the 23rd series, there is nothing close. The lightest color would be Maumee Maize which is definitely yellowish. Color preference is a really personal thing, but I think the 22nd-23rd series Packards look best in dark colors. Just my I wonder what the internal temperature difference would be between a Packard Blue and a Packard Ivory car both left out in the South African Sun for a couple of hours with the windows closed? I bet both would be uncomfortable.

I know there is another Packard on THE ISLAND OF IRELAND, but not in the Republic of Ireland.
I'm aware of the distinction, but note I just said "Ireland".

I know there is another Packard on THE ISLAND OF IRELAND, but not in the Republic of Ireland.
If this is a little cryptic you may remember that part of the island of Ireland is still under UK control and therefore is a different country. It would be like me saying there are US Packard owners in Canada, same land mass, different country. Thus ends the history lesson!
