Packard specs say 30 degrees. I would wonder where Max got the 60 degree number as that seems very contrary to what Packard published in all the service material during the years of use for the 282 engines. Were the seats changed?
Here is the published 1941 282 valve info from Vol 17 #14 service counselor

I've never seen any valves using a 60 degree seat....

Absolutely do not cut extra metal off the valve seat. There is no easy getting that back. 30 degrees it is for certain. Please post a picture of what you are seeing.

Big thanks for stopping me everybody. They are 30 degrees. My next question is, the exhaust valves all seat in the middle of the valve like they are suppose to, but all the intakes seat high at the top. They do sit on the entire seat for a good seal I do believe. Do the intakes normally ride high? I do not want to do a 2 or 3 angle cut to achieve this if I don't have to. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Before considering what to do about it if anything, how wide is the seating surface? If it's excessively wide, you're going to want to narrow it so then just bring it down from the top.

The pattern on the intakes typically rides high. It won't make a problem in that the intakes get only fractionally as hot as the exhausts.

There is not much seat here compared to newer motors. This is what I am looking at. How do I bring it down from the top?

Typical desired seat width is about 3/32". If you need to reduce it and move it down from the top, just use a suitably angled stone or cutter.
