Hi all,
A quick note to let everyone know that I now have original style, Packard radiator stone guard mesh panels in stock. The panel size is 30 by 42 inches (2.5 ft by 3.5 ft) and weighs about 11 pounds. It is woven stainless steel made from 0.125 inch wide strands and the squares are about 1.5 by 1.5 inches. NOTE: This is NOT a complete stone guard – just the woven mesh panel. Here's the link: https://whiteglovecollection.com/shop/packard-style-stone-guard-mesh-panel/ Thanks, Crin

I have seen them on late 20s to early 30s cars.

Not entirely true, Don. While Packard may have offered the vertical bar radiator shield, Packard still featured the V'eed flash-mesh guard in their accessory catalog, and is the one most often seen (when one does see one. Very rarely are 1932-34 Packards seen with grille guards).

I've been unsuccessful in finding an OEM Packard accessory catalog for the Ninth and Tenth Series Packards. What I have found is the Eleventh Series Accessory catalog which is viewable on this site and the Tenth through Fourteenth Series Service Parts List. Both of these items show the vertical bar stone guard as the only guard available. That's why I surmised that they dropped the meshed guard when they brought out the veed grille in 1932.
