No, I don't believe so, your owners manual describes using a crankcase petcock to monitor the oil level.

To check the oil you pull and turn the 'bent rod' 90 degrees.
If oil drips on the ground...you have enough. If it does not drip...add some. Think that design would fly with the EPA now?????
