I’d like to rewire my 115c and am wondering if the dash is removable so I can get at all the connections

Not too long ago I painted my dash. I too was looking to see if it was possible on my 120c. The only pieces that I was able to remove were the 3 separate inserts that house the speedometer, instrument cluster, and the glove box door. I got those woodgrained. The larger single piece that houses those is welded in place.

The dash structure is part of the cowl (aka not removable). But if you remove the speed panel and the glove box/door. Then it makes it infinitely easier to get to the wiring and see what's going on. But there is going to be lots of reaching under and disconnecting the stud nuts that hold the parts to the backside of the panels.

The hardest part is getting the headlight switch off without breaking it.

Here are a few pictures I took when I stripped my dash to give you an idea of where all the fasteners are.

Also, you have to CAREFULLLY unscrew the headlight switch bezel from the switch body, and then unhook the knob shaft from the switch body underneath.

Then you can remove the switch.

That looks un-fun. Not looking forward to it on my '40 110.

Would like to know how you removed the shaft from the switch body. Does unscrewing the bezel help?

Yes, you unscrew the bezel carefully to loosen everything, the you unhook the shaft from the switch.
