There is a '37 Two Door sedan on eBay at present but ending soon, see link

cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1937-PACKARD-120 ... QcmdZViewItem?hash=item230211783626

I have only seen pictures of a couple of two door sedans circa that era. My Question - Are two door sedans from that time comparatively rare?

The same car is again on eBay.

Again my question. How rare is the 2 door sedan body style?

It was not until well after WW II that Packard kept production records by body style so there is no quantitative answer to your question, though it could of course be estimated by knowing the highest VN production sequence known. You might contact the PAC roster keeper for that year/model to see if his has an estimate. In a general answer, the coupe victoria (or coupe/sedan to some) is relatively uncommon, though of course far more common on the junior chassis than the seniors.

the 1937 touring coupe is the 1094 and is the rarest of the 120C . I have one and look this answer from the PAC:

Bon jour Sylvain,

Your car is the first Canadian built 1094 in the 1937 roster. I have no specific information about that car, but can advise you of the following:

-This car was the 42nd 1094 built in Canada (Windsor, Ont), so I now know that there were at least 42 Canadian built 1094 cars -I now know that there were at least 2,320 cars built of this type, out of a total of 50,100 model 120C cars built in the 1937 model year.
-There are only 4 cars of type 1094 in the roster, including yours, suggesting that you have a relatively rare car. Other than yours, one car is in Massachussetts, one in Nevada, and the third in Brasil.

Looking at the photograph, the car seems to be in very good condition.
Was the photo taken recently? I notice that the photo shows a "bail cap"
as the hood ornament. Your two inputs to the roster both indicated that the car had a "goddess", which should be in place of the bail cap.

Thanks again

Bazou37,

Thanks for that info. I have seen your '37 Touring Coupe in the Owner Registry, but no others besides the one on ebay, and was intrigued by the body style. Congratulations on having a "rare" Packard.

Ron,

You're right! She also keeps muttering something about each car is equal to 1 carat when we pass jewelry store windows. Whatever can she mean?
