Purchased this 55 patrician in 2013. Been slowly plugging await at it. Recently had the transmission rebuilt. I have refereed to this forum several times for advise. Has been very helpful. Look forward to sharing any info I come across. This is my first restore and so far everything is original to include the paint. I need to install new carpet and headliner but going to keep original seat covering.

G'day khmarsh,

Looking forward to following along as your restoration progresses. Like the before and after pic's of the engine and interior/dash, can really see what you've done and done well!

Hi khmarsh

Great-looking '55 Patrician you've rejuvenated! Looks as if you started with a good, solid car which is a leg up when working on an old car.

By chance, did you find your Patrician from a Craigslist posting then? It looks very familiar as I check CL often, seem to recall noting how good the car looked for the price then.

Please keep us posted on your progress.

Steve

Thanks for the comments. I lived only 1 mile from where I purchased the car. I had been eying it for 2 years...then it went up for sale. The couple did advertise on craigslist but it was too late, I bought it the same day they moved it to the road side. Been a great learning experience so far. It is easy to self teach yourself with all the tools available through the internet. I didn't know the first thing about rebuild an engine until I purchased this car. Everything you see missing from the engine compartment in the before picture was all in the trunk...right down to all the nuts and bolts.

Hello Khmarsh:

Welcome to the forum. You said you needed carpeting and that you want to keep things original.

You need to talk with Neal Porter in Michigan. He has an ad in the regional publication for Motor City Packards that he sells 1955 & 1956 carpeting for senior cars in copper, black, green, blue and gray - but it is a limited supply. You can reach him at 248-693-1907. Tell him Roger sent you.

Best of luck.
