First two pictures are a Cadillac with wood-carved side panels. After the conclusion of their banquet on Sat. night, at about 10:30 pm, all of the drivers of the antique ambulances came outside and "fired -up" all of the sirens and emergency lights, about 50 cars. It was pretty impressive, probably a couple hundred people showed up to see it. They called it their "Light and Sound Show"

Very nice. Did any other coach use the Henney side loading mechanism? First time I had seen one extended.
Maybe the second coming of Packard missed it's calling. IMHO, it looks better as a hearse than a sedan.

All of the other conversion companies had "three way tables" (S&S, Hess and Eirhart, Eureka) Here is another picture of the open top hearse with the top down, and a Studerbaker "Ambulet"

Dave: You are correct. I failed to look it up.
The 22nd Series Super Eight, next to the 47 Limo was send to H & E (not Henney, according to the owner )) to have that padded top added so the sedan would match the Hearse. The owner calls it a "Clergy Car" but it may have been used a "Lead Car" that would go before the hearse to lead the procession to church/cemetery.

Not to go too far off-track from the Hudson meet, but on the topic of professional vehicles, over the years there have been several of the "art-carved" hearses shown at various Packard events. IIRC most of them were bodied by Miller. Here's a 38 by Miller; photo by this writer and taken (IIRC) at the PAC National in Asheville NC. Also rather stunning is the 40 flower car by Henney, photo also by this writer, taken at the Crane Estate during the PAC National in Danvers, Mass.

On Sunday afternoon, after the Hudson show, we toured the museum at Canton where they have a 37 Packard craved side hearse and flower car. These cars were both at the Opus '37 at Warren a couple of summers ago. Some nice cars and a lot of other stuff to see at this museum.

I was there. In fact the Bayliff in the pic is my friend's.
We actually cut out one afternoon to see the Packard Museum in Warren. I can't believe that was not part of the meet considering Henney Packards are professional cars. Been to the museum before, and it is small, but I got a new 1954 Caribbean T-shirt.
