The 38th annual Texas Packard Meet will be held April 10-12, 2015 in historic Salado, Texas. This the oldest and probably largest regional Packard meet in the country. It is sponsored by the four Texas regions. Headquarters is the Stagecoach Inn, but rooms are also available at the nearby Holiday Inn and Best Western. We typically have over 200 participants and as many as 66 Packards from all over Texas plus 22 other states. The Meet features an early bird tour, a Packard swap meet, technical seminars, a people's choice competition, and an awards dinner.

Salado is on I-35 approximately 50 miles north of Austin. For info, please call meet registrar Jeannie Clark at 210-497-6836 or email at clarkwc@aol.com. You may also get info at texaspackardmeet.com.

All are welcome, with or without a Packard. See you there!

This must be some meet!

Just tried to make a reservation at the Stagecoach Inn and they told me they were already sold out for the nights of April 9, 10 & 11.

I've never attended this event so I would appreciate some advice on the preferred (next best) hotel - Holiday Inn Express or Best Western?

Thanks.

I have always stayed at the Stagecoach, but either the Holiday Inn or Best Western should be fine. They are newer and may provide a nicer accommodation. Most participants prefer the Stagecoach because of convenience, but the other hotels are close by. Salado is a small town. Some come as early as Thursday so as to participate in the Friday morning Early Bird Tour. Others arrive on Friday and some do not get there until Saturday morning.

The Holiday Inn Express and Best Western are next to each other. Both are fine.

Sounds like fun. I'm in Bellevue Washington, 2330 miles. That's a big road trip for a '48 Packard!

Bill, while you and your '48 Packard would be most welcome, you don't need to drive a Packard to attend and participate. Many participants arrive in vehicles other than a Packard. Some also participate in the Early Bird tour in their other makes. I have done it both ways, but it is more fun in a Packard. We welcome all. Come on down!

I'm going to try to make it this year, but I have to find a better trailer to bring my Packard, cause I don't want to take my 40ft flatbed!

With a trailer that long you could bring two Packards. Look forward to seeing you there.
