Packard Experience - Sneak Peek Preview

I saw Tom Hale, noted automotive artist, yesterday and he shared with me a sneak peek at the large (30" X 40") painting he just completed as the poster art for the Packard Experience. You can see a photo of the results below.

Beginning Friday, June 5th and running through Sunday, June 7th the CCCA is sponsoring the Packard Experience at the Gilmore Museum in Hickory Corners, MI. The show is open to ALL Packards, not just those of the "Classic" era.

They honor a different marque each year and the last time they selected Packard was in 2004. At that time about 250 Packards were on the field - making it larger than a PAC National Meet.

Friday will have a dinner at the museum. Saturday will have driving tours in the area during the day and a banquet in the evening. Sunday is the show and the grounds are open to the public, not just CCCA members. This would be a good chance for you to show off your Packard.

Looks like a 1933 Standard Eight coupe. (Eight, I mean ... per Dave's note below)

Looks like an Eight, or if you must, a standard Eight, but not a Standard Eight.

Looks to me like it lacks many authentic touches.

Now excuse me while I run out before the tomatoes start flying.

Hi

This goes on my must-attend calendar for 2015! Twenty years ago, 1994, I attended the CCCA Packard Experience held there, it was unforgettable. Haven't been back since much to my sadness. So much has been added to the campus in the intervening years this will be a great chance to see it all.

I recall speaking with Tom Hale at that event, he was just starting his automotive art career. The man has a unique vision and technique, kudos to him for doing what some of us only dreamed of.

Steve
