Good used may be hard to come by since they so often rust. If yours has not disintegrated totally, some have had success repairing with JB Weld and smoothing followed by a coat of paint.
If no one has a good one to offer you can get a non rusting brass repro from the So Cal region of Packards International.packards-today.com/catalog.php?CID=7

Hi
sent email to the brass water outlet site they never responded. Perhaps I should send again? Are they members here? Ken

Might also be worth a snail mail letter or even a call to PI headquarters to see if they have any info. Maybe they are on a tour or the parts responsibility changed hands.
I have found several assorted vendors or companies -- even though they provide an email address -- really don't like doing business that way. They are still old school phone or letter & won't respond in a timely fashion -- or some even at all. For those vendors, unless it is the only game in town for a particular item and I can't find a substitute then no response is their loss as far as I am concerned. If you get no reply then Max and Kanter could probably help with what you need.

Kanter Auto Products now sells a replacement that does not need a retaining ring to hold the thermostat in.

If you still need a thermostat housing I have a spare one off of a 1948 Super 8. If it will fit your car you can have it for a $10 donation to the Packard info site plus whatever shipping will cost. Thanks, Packardtaximan
