The jack that came in the boot(trunk) of my 1950 Eight Sedan is shown in the photo below. It's missing a handle.

I've seen photos of other bumper jacks for Post-War Packards but they are all mechanical in operation. This one is hydraulic and because of that I doubt if it is original. Would like to know more, if possible.

Packard did offer a hydraulic bumper jack as an accessory, yours is similar to but not the same as the Packard accessory unit. See pictures in the 1948 Accessory Catalog.
