Unbolting it from the floor is the easiest way. I have had my seat out 4 times and have gotten good at it. The last time was about 12-15 minutes. Each side has four bolts and the drivers side also is bolted for the power seat if your car is so equipped. Trying to take it apart is difficult and I chose not to try it.

G'day patgreen,
to PackardInfo. And a request of you, could you please include your 55 or 56(?) in the Packard Owner's Registry here, together with a pic, any known history and how you acquired it?

I'm confused. There are 8 bolts? 16 Bolts?

There are 4 nuts and washers on each side and if power seat, one about a foot inward where the motor anchor is. On the drawing, the studs and some locations can be seen sort of identified with a white dot. They are attached to tracks at each corner and protrude below for the nuts. The power motor anchor nut is in that odd shaped piece where the white dot is (slightly below where the lone 30.93019 identifier is sort of by itself in the middle).
