Does the Henry Joy tours count?

What about the international (Europe, Austrailia, etc), Packard only meets too?

What about the Texas Packard Meet? We have people from all over the US come.

If there are they are not well advertized. Most local shows could not get many cars if they did Packard ONLY.

Maybe I'm not in the loop but nothing seems very well advertised except the PAC National meet. But again, maybe I'm just not in the know.

I'm not sure where you're looking for meet and event information, perhaps you don't belong to either of the two national Packard clubs? The Henry Joy Tours, the Frederick MD meet, the PI National, PAC National, and events like the Packard Club Tour of Belgium were certainly widely advertised within the club publications. The PAC national events are also publicized on their website, and I assume PI similarly. There are also events at venues like The Packard Museum in Warren OH and the Packard Proving Grounds in MI which are noted on their respective websites and often also in club publications. Most PAC regions have their own websites which cover their own local events.

This discussion started talking about national Packard only shows. Both national clubs advertise their annual events to their club members who can choose to register and attend. They are not intended for the general public to attend. Club members get ample notice of how to attend. In PACs case, for the last 6 months registration forms have been available in print and on the PAC website. With that said, the PAC meet in Pontiac, Mi is about 9 days away and you can still register for most things except judging. By the way the swap meet is sold out so there will be a lot of parts available. The judging day is being held in a public park, so non members or people who do not register and support the meet can view the cars for free.

Hello Packard0:

First, I would like to reiterate what my good friend Packards1 just said. He should know what he is talking about - he is running the swap meet area for the 2013 PAC National Meet.

As the 2013 PAC Meet Director I am glad you noticed our advertisements for our Meet. Maybe that is why we will have 60% more registrations than the previous National Meet.

I want to publically thank Big Kev for putting our Meet front and center on the Main Page as an "Upcoming Event."

What first caught your attention? Was it:

1. The thead about the Meet back on January 27th here:packardinfo.com/xoops/html/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?topic_id=11194&forum=15
2. Or the one from one of our presenters for a tech session on the 1956 Packard/Autolite Pushbutton shift system started this thread about 6 months ago:packardinfo.com/xoops/html/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?topic_id=11157&forum=15
3. Or maybe the thread about a month ago warning of the deadline for special group rates at the Meet Hotelpackardinfo.com/xoops/html/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?topic_id=11917&forum=15
4. Perhaps it was the comments I made on other threads whenever I thought I could show a tie-in to our National Meet. Like this example of a wonderful speaker with intimate details of the 1955 Caribbean interiors we will have at the PPG on Monday, June 24th - see my post #5:packardinfo.com/xoops/html/modules/newbb ... 077&topic_id=12047&#forumpost125077

I was doing so many of this type of shameless postings that I thought someone would say, "...enough already!"

There is still time for you to join in on the fun. Because our Meet is so large we have a crew of 50+ volunteers that have been working very hard to make this an enjoyable week for YOU.

So are we going so see you here??

When (not if) you come to Detroit make sure you look me up.

Roger Luksik
2013 PAC National Meet Director
