Thank you guys for the welcome. I have a lot to learn as this is my first Packard and first car prior to 1967. The car all seems good apart from another of a clattering noise coming from underneath as I slow down. About worried it's the gear box.
Thanks Andy.

Hello Andy. Glad to have you in the Pack! I have been a Packard owner for about a year and half and I can tell you that you picked a great car. You also picked a great website here. The folks who participate here can offer excellent advice and tips that are incredibly helpful (for instance, check out "Henry's 55 Constellation). Also, you have a good looking car. Congrats!!

You can make a lot of really neat things from the parts left over after you rebuild your engine ...

Hi Andy, Welcome and nice to see another UK Packard owner, these cars are super rare in UK especially the 55/56 models. This site is brilliant and has proved invaluable to me being a novice Packard owner a few years back. Almost anything you need to know can be found here, these cars do have some common problems and peculiarities depending on how yours is optioned. I've found there is always somebody here willing to help and offer advice with any problem I have encountered.
Good luck, Dave.
