Incredible! A quarter balanced on its edge on a Pack straight 8 running

I found video on Youtube of a quarter balanced on its edge on a running straight 8 Packard engine. Incredible. Those must have been some smooth running engines.

Granted, I'm sure the same can be done on modern engines, but given the time period, I think it's pretty awesome.

Happy Holidays,
Garrett Meadows

the Quarter is neat, Look for the one with the Dime for a bigger impression.

No, not as easy to do on modern engines. Unless it's an inline. The more cylinders in a row, the smoother it gets.

Another thing impressive is watching the Twelve idle so slowly and smoothly you can count the fan blades pass by.

i'd heard the coin on edge story as being used in its day regarding the RR Silver Ghost.

Are you sure it was a quarter? I think the only U.S. coins you can do that with is a nickel and a penny.

Back in the day, I was able to balance a 5-cent piece on the cylinder head of a running '41 One-Twenty. No YouTube in those days to record the event.
