My lines are cold. We are in Canada. Fuel line is cool right to float bowl. Running electric pump and it's cool but float bowl is boiling gas within 5 minutes of cold start up. Any ideas why?

I'll field this grounder....the flap in your exhaust manifold is stuck in the closed position.

Hi Paka40,

David (the Flackmaster) has given you a good lead - easy to check: is your heat riser free? Up is closed, down is open - should be down when the engine is warm. You say 'boiling', is it possible it is just bubbling?? The reason I ask is I just rebuilt a six in a '39 and the head gasket was bad, allowing compression to 'leak' into the cylinder beside and that compressed air was pushed back through the intake, causing bubbles and back pressure in my fuel line. The pressure would equalize with what the fuel pump could put out and the car would stall. Let it sit for 30 seconds and the pressure would bleed off and it would start right up again, only to repeat the same cycle, ad nauseam. I thought the gas was 'boiling', but it wasn't. Chris

Ya for now... Lol.. But she's running Ming good again. It hasn't run since '64 so we are pretty proud and it won't have happened without all the help from this forum... Thank you everyone from the bottom of our hearts..
