Looks like it may have been converted from the push button shift to lever. Did anyone else note the red lens parking brake light at the base of the steering column? I wonder how the driver could select a gear, by memory and feel?

Because my father purchased one, brand-new, back in 1956, the Executive hardtop is my favorite Packard. Of course, I just had to take a look, but I missed that little red lens.

After taking a second look, I suspect someone took the lazy way out and dropped in the complete column and steering wheel from a Clipper. The horn ring emblem should have the crest as seen on Senior cars. The wheel should be two-toned with molded ribbing.

Also, the wheel covers are wrong (54?). The headlamp doors are from a 55 Senior. The poor fit of the rear bumper end to the left taillight suggests previous collision damage and substandard repair. The rear bumper guards are installed imcorrectly; should be in a vertical orientation, flanking/framing the license plate. Something about the seat upholstery doesn't look quite right, but I can't put my finger on it. I gave up after that much.

Factory AC is a plus, but that's outweighed by so many questionable points.

Wheel covers are the one-year-only style, 1952 if I recall correctly.
