pandamarie,

Click on Owner Registry in the Main Menu list

Scroll to the bottom of the Registry entries and click on "Add your Packard to the Registry"

Add the details required in each field. It may open near the bottom of the form so scroll to the top and fill in the blanks from there as required.

Please include a picture, you can do this by saving the picture you want to your Laptop or PC then selecting it after clicking on the browse button for the Vehicle Picture field.

And add the known history of the car or how you came to acquire it, preferably both. Makes for interesting reading from my perspective.

And last, once all the details are loaded, click on the "Add to Registry" button at the bottom.

Should work.

Look forward to seeing your "fleet" in there.

BigKev,

Just tried to update some details for my '41 Coupe entry but it didn't work. Tried a couple of times. Could you have a look please?

Mal, what fields where you trying to update? I just made a change to my project description and it worked just fine.

Let me know what you did, so I can try to reproduce the problem and fix it.

Thanks!

Kev,

Went into my 41 Coupe entry, clicked on the Make Changes button then updated - Model Number, Vin Number, Found Condition and Current Condition - then clicked on Save Changes button - Came up and said that it worked but on checking, it hadn't. Tried a couple of times, still didn't work. So just changed the pic - and it worked! So did changes one at a time and they worked! Now that I think of it, did you mention this was the way to do changes at some earlier time?

And Pandamarie,

Good to see your Packards in the Registry.

Mal,

I just made a few changes to the Owner Registry section to fix a few outstanding bugs. Now it will scrub illegal characters from the filenames that were causing issues. Also it was not properly 'escaping' certain characters in the text fields before putting those into the database. This caused a truncated database entry. This was also been fixed. I just tested it using all kinds of special characters, and the problem appears to be fixed.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

I have some more i would like to say about the history of my car and the restoration but i seem to run into a little glitch. whenever i try and type something in the description box, all the text disappears in the box, and stays gone for almost a minute. after a minute the text will reappear. its kind of dificult to type in new, and modify old text like that.

any help appreciated.

Mike,

I cant seem to reproduce the problem you are seeing. What OS and browser are you using? I just want to see if it may be something that shows up only in certain browsers.

Also are you on a broadband or dial-up connection? It should matter, just curious.

When typing long posts, PMs, or entries into any part of the website, I would advise doing those in something like notepad, wordpad, or Word, and then paste it into the webform when you are done. As if you take too long while composing something, or walk away in the middle, and come back, then your website session could expire, and then when you hit submit, it throws away everything you typed in as you are no longer logged into the website. Its just how the session management works on the website software. If works fine for normal posts, and the such. But if you spend more than 15 minutes working on it, or walk away, then you risk that your session may have expired. So using word, notepad, wordpad, etc lets you take your time, and then when you are ready, start your post (registry entry, etc), and then paste it in. It's just good insurance against loosing your work. Also advised if you have an flaky or unstable internet connection.

Let me know if I can help you out with anything,

-Kev
