Just wondering, have you owned it for that time or did you just buy it?
Be sure the engine is not frozen. Is there not a dipstick? You will need to drain the oil anyway so see if it's under the oil filler / crankcase vent cap. By the way, here is the Owner's Manual for your car, from the Literature Archive on the left. packardinfo.com/xoops/html/downloads/1928_6_526-533_Manual.pdf Sounds like a cool project.

G'day jcl,
Not often we a member from Argentina to PackardInfo! Concerning your question, see the attached extract from the Owners Manual that humanpotatohybrid was kind enough to provide a link to. It answers both your question and also humanpotatohybrids of "Is there, not a dipstick? ". The answer to which is no! You have to open the petcock to determine if the oil is at the correct level. The petcock is on the left side of the engine's aluminum crankcase between the oil filler "spout" and the starter motor in the ones I've seen. Lastly, but by no means least, I invite you to include your '28 (see Post#4) in the Packard Vehicle Registry. Attach file: Petcock per manual.JPG (17.25 KB)

Thank you very much for the information. To your question, I commented that the car was acquired in 1977 and since then it has been stored without use. In the 1940s it was transformed into a hearse, so it does not retain part of the rear bodywork and the hood (although it does retain the carriers), the state of originality and conservation is excellent. I'll send you photos. See you soon.
