Taping the wedge tighter is the conventional way. When I went to tighten them on my old 48 Custom I lost the wedge and used a wooden golf tee with just a dap of epoxy. Thirty years later it's still quite snug.

I've got one with one wing missing. Maybe I can carve some cherry wing for it; hum?

Gene, try to get in contact with casey rog who has a cormorant of a 1951 300 with broken wing on his work bench waiting for a good idea. Look, it is spring and many bird species are polygamous and will mate with several partners ...
Take care, according to the driver's manual flightless Cormorants have a specific mating ritual. <iframe width="500" height="284" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/yFR6C5s87cw?rel=0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

So far it looks to be working fine. I scuffed up the chrome on the wing stump so the epoxy would stick better.

Mine is for the 23 Series and the 23 and 24 would be a strange mating of wings I think. Gene

22nd, 23rd, 24th... same bird. 24th has a different base.
