I started restoring this '40 Convertible Coupe for a customer a few weeks ago at our shop. I don't know much about these cars so I wanted to find a Packard forum for when I need help. We'll be completing the restoration; the owner has already restored/rebuilt the drivetrain, frame, and suspension. It needs a ton of metal work before we can start any bodywork. I started a build topic for it on my "home forum" 67-72chevytrucks.com in the off topic section so I'll import those posts to catch up to the current work.

This is it as it was delivered, we have the rest of the parts in storage. The owner was a helicopter mechanic and is very detail oriented so all of the parts were boxed meticulously; each box is labeled with a list of parts and hardware inside.

**Edit** I'm having a hard time figuring out this forum. I can't post pictures from photobucket without them showing up too small and I can't post pictures from my computer and also add a description for each picture. I can't get my pictures from photobucket to load like they should? They keep showing up smaller and if you click on them it only shows a "user has deleted image" page.

to PackardInfo and I, for one, will be following along with interest as the restoration progresses. There's plenty of friendly, knowledgeable Packard people here who are more than willing to offer advice and share their experiences. Looking forward to seeing this Packard return to it's former glory.

And, a request, would you be able to ask the owner to include his '40 120 Convertible Coupe in the Packard Owner's Registry? Or if you could load it up with his approval?

Did you follow these instructions from BigKev?

7) If you want to attach a picture, you can select "Choose File" select the picture off of your computer, and then click the "Upload" button. You can repeat this as many times as you want for as many pictures as you would like to attach. (similar to sending email)

Or are you linking the photos to another site. I don't remember seeing photobucket associated with photos before on this site, but I'm certainly not the authority on this. I do want to see your progress, however.

Thanks for the welcome, and I will mention the registry to the owner next time he's here.

I have the photos saved from my iPhone to photobucket, they're not on my PC so I can't upload them the normal way. For some reason they're showing up about half size in my post when I link them from photobucket.

I welded in braces with turnbuckles to keep the body in place before cutting out the rust.

Finding the original seams and cutting the panels out in the reverse order that they were assembled at the factory.
