It would be interesting to know the production number off the data plate. Is it and early or late car? Any special interior, or paint, paint and trim code would tell us.
Are there 2 antennas on this car? One on the front fender and one on the rear 1/4? Have you looked for a production card on this car? When did the the Predictor 1st exhibit?

I think these cars in the original form are simply beautiful. That being said, I kinda like this modification. It would be interesting to find out more about it - who did it? When? Reminds me a bit of 57-58 dodge cars - "Oops, we forgot to put a fin on it", LOL

I like it. If it's a factory modification, I've never seen any other photos of it. If it was done privately, it's a pretty neat job.

An aftermarket kit briefly marketed by Warshawsky and Warshawsky, Not connected with Washawsky and son.
They are believed to be fender liners from a Studebaker from when they decided to go without.

the number is 5687-2834 it has only one antenna on lr quarter the car only has 83k original miles on it all original interior. The car was repainted some years ago the color code is MR and trim is 89 the vehicle was owned by JW meyers prior to my friend buying the car who was a local packard collector some years ago. My friend bought the car in 92 and had the car repainted by a guy who took the car all the way down to metal and said the installation of the fins looks to be factory but that is one mans opinion i have yet to find any documentation on the fins and the guy he bought it from died some years back he had owned the car for quite some time.

It's very interesting, in a unique sense, and looks very professionally done. However, I think it does nothing to improve the looks of the car as a whole. The 400 is one of the best looking postwar Packards, and this modification only breaks up the clean lines with an un-needed gee-gaw.

That car number does not appear in Stuart Blond's Cormorant article listing company cars, including cars assigned to styling. Very interesting.
