I don't know how the trunk finish might have varied across the various '54 models; the '54 Cavalier had sides flocked in a medium tan, a bit darker than chamois, and the deck had a flimsy, very thin carpet material of a very short nap ribbed hogs hair type material. If memory serves, my '54 Patrician had the same treatment; whether the Caribbean was different is unknown to me.

Not too shy to talk

I have a '53 Caribbean & have been looking for a liner too. All the original flocking is gone so the sides of my trunk have oxidized. I have placed a rubber backed grey trade show carpet on the floor. To use that to cover the curves would be a challenge. I could also spray it with flocking material or a speckle finish.

There was a beautiful 54 Patty that just sold on ebay. You can view it by going to completed listings. There is a view of a sales brochure laying on the trunk mat. You can very nicely see the color and texture of the factory installed mat.
