The color I am using is a custom mix that is "supposed" to be a match for the original '54 Packard Bikini Metali-chrome Blue. It has a super fine ground flake in it.

You've made a lot of progress Joe. Car looks very nice. I really like that you have made some mod's that are fun yet easily reversible should you (or someone in the distant future) decide to change back. I also like the tinted windows. Makes the car look menacing.
Have you had it out to any shows yet? I bet people like it. Jim

no not yet i did take it out for a short drive today.for the first time. mostly i have just driven it around the naberhood. car did good i did have the battery light on when i got up to 55mph i slowed down and the light went out. so i will have to find out what is going on with the 6volt neg. ground set up that i have. other then that it all went well. joe

Should be positive ground, unless someone deliberately changed it. Better make sure the generator fields are polarized to whatever polarity you decide to go with, though there is no real advantage to a negative ground system over a positive ground system.

will i went with the neg. ground due to i mounted a 12v radio in the trunk and it is neg. ground i did not went nothing to short out. know when i went to the 6volt neg. ground and did change the voltage reg. and changed the wiers in the coil. all gauges, light and overdrive are working good. and the engine starts real good. so i thank there is something out of adjustment or the original gen. may be going which it looked good when i took it apart to clean it up. joe

OK, I understand why you switched, but did repolarize the generator when you switched from pos to neg ground, right?
