Your car seems to just fight you all the way! Mine also just unbolted with no fuss.

Remember, Kevin has a gentle Packard on the outside, with a wild cat under the hood...sharp teeth hidden in an unassuming exterior!!!

With all the good comments on the sway bar addition to a 1937 and that the 38-41/42 will fit a 37 I'm going to be on look out for one. Are new bushings and links available from other makes of cars?

If you can find a swaybar with good rubber connections between the sway bar and the links, that is the way to go as they are not replaceable and the replacement solution for those endlinks from Max Merrit is about $600.

So if you can find a good swaybar with endlinks, the you buy new frame bushings and brackets from Energy Suspension. The rubber that goes on the ends of the link where in attaches to the trailing arms brackets can be got anywhere (napa, etc) they are common endlink bushings.

Just make sure you get the tailing arm sway bar brackets. Those need to replace the existing jackpads.

I know that Packards Southwest and John Ulrich both have another sway bar. Packards Southwest has the needed brackets as well. If you contact John Ulrich, make sure and ask about the brackets.

As Kevin mentioned the bushings from Energy Susspension.

If you have to replace the end links on the sway bar, the Max Merritt end links are $450 plus shipping.

Does two years make a tradition? It seems that it may. This year we had two families stop by to take their Halloween pictures with Birdie. They told us they took pictures last year and had to come by and see if they could do it again….They did.

The DB Parking Only sign, started out as Dodge Bros. Then, it became Don Brundage Parking Only. Tonight, it was Dead Body Parking Only.

In fairness, the driver did try to stop. His foot was on the brake!

Hello Kev,
I have a spare swaybar that I believe is the correct 1937 one, like all freight costs it may be to expensive to forward it to the USA. Do returned American parts attract the tariff?
Regards Pepe

Vehicle parts shipped from Australia are subject to a 27.5% tariff.

tariffs.flexport.com/

Regardless of country of export, an American-made item may be repatriated without duty being charged, if the product was not "significantly improved" while abroad. (For example, exporting a pipe and importing a finished sway bar would not work.) To do this, use HS code 9801.00.10. Documentation is required regarding these requirements. If not possible or not accepted by customs authorities, the standard duty will be charged to the importer.

cbp.gov/trade/programs-administration/entry-summary/hts-subheading-9801

All original Packard parts that I am aware of are American-made; I don't know of Packard using finished components from any other country in the American cars.

The obvious exceptions being the cars not even assembled in the USA, e.g. the Canadian Packards, Argentinian trucks, and other foreign-assembled cars (if any).

I finally got around to a needed improvement of my front turn signals. The previous setup used amber bulbs (LED) for my parking lights, so I had amber parking lights and turn signals that weren’t really bright enough. They were visible in daylight, but not that bright. At night, with the headlights on, they were washed out by the headlights.

I made brackets and installed motorcycle “bullet” turn signals. It’s not perfect as these along with my add-on third brake light are the only visible deviations from original. It’s definitely worth it, though.

These aren’t very noticeable when the lights aren’t illuminated but they are quite bright and very visible when needed. No more worries about washed out turn signals at night and they are much brighter in the daytime as well.
