That 50 is interesting. Paint job like an old war bird. Styling like a blockade runner. What is on the hood ornament?

Those questionable pants are plus fours, fashionable golf and sports wear at the time.

It's the shoes that have me worried. He is a fashion designer so I suppose it is all right.

I have a book on Pierce Arrow by Maurice Hendry, on the cover is a picture of a mid twenties Pierce with people in sport clothes, the man is wearing plus fours and argyle socks.

They were called plus fours because they were 4 inches longer than common old fashioned Knickerbocker trousers.

If you think those are bad wait till you see a pair of Oxford bags.

Good catch Rusty! I add his necktie that he wears tucket into his hot pants.
Now a big jump towards the Gateway of India. A 1938 Packard Eight Convertible Sedan bakes in the sun of Bombay.

Dave (O_D) threw the spotlight to a Packard country, far away from the main traffic arteries: Finland.

My mind is blown by the high quality metal forming in the second photo. It's a magnificent piece of work in a late forties style. Could it possibly be the same car as in photo one? Check out the hood and wheels.

Ross I don't think it's the same car; look at the length of the doors compared to the wheelbase. But it seems that both are fire "trucks".

Both photos carry the same caption. I tried to do several different software based Finnish -> English translations but wasn't very successful. I think it's possible that it's the same vehicle with an extensive body transplant.
